D. This is a photo of an abstract energy scape taken for National Geographic. I chose this image because it makes you feel like you are actually there. The arial view allows you to see the texture of the clouds and the oil sands of Alberta, Canada. I also liked how there is a contrast in color with the sand, ocean, clouds, and shadows. The water creates leading lines and uses direction to move your eyes across the whole picture.

A. #2 Panning
B. Toni Guetta

D. I chose this photo because the use of the vibrant colors and the setting at the amusement park creates a fun and enjoyable scene. The name of the picture, "Like a Child", matches it perfectly. The subject of the photo, the children, is focused and the background of the photo, the amusement park, is blurred. This is because the photographer used the technique known as panning. Since the photographer used this specific technique, it makes it feel like you are on the ride as well. Aside from panning, the photographer also uses repetition (the rides swings) and direction (leading your eyes from the girl in blue to the boy in red).

A. #3 Portrait
B. Narendra Motwani

D. I chose this image because it strays away from the traditional, posed portraits. This photo shows the hidden personality of the little girl. The tea cup being used as a prop is symmetrical. The black and white contrast helps to make her eyes stand out. Automatically my eyes are drawn to the child's eyes because it is staring right at me.
